There are major differences between the amateur hockey player and the professional.
You will be surprise that it's not what you probably are thinking in your mind. Once you know these differences then you'll have a blueprint to follow for you to achieve whatever level that you want in hockey.
These are the major differences between amateur and professional hockey players:
The amateur hasn't yet mastered some of the basics of their Timing. The professional while not knowing how Timing works, will have certain natural abilities that will enable him to control their timing during the game.
The amateur hasn't yet acquired the level of speed that is needed on a consistent level. The professional player has somewhat a higher level of speed because they've achieved a better level because of their natural talents and abilities.
The amateur hasn't yet mastered the proper level of Rhythm. Although professional players have no clue either how Rhythm works, they HOPE that they'll be able to have the proper rhythm, flow and tempo in their game.
The amateur hasn't learned to control their reflex. The professional has the natural ability to execute and control their reflex although they don't have any clue on how reflex is really done.
The amateur has a harder time to control their body mechanics while the professional has a better sense of how their body works and knows how to adjust various components of their body in order for them to perform at peak levels.
The amateur hasn't yet mastered their mental focus. Where the professional has a better grasp of what it takes mentally to achieve various levels in hockey.
Note:You might think that the professional player might be 25% or even 50% better than the amateur but the reality is that it's only a fraction of a percentage point that makes all the difference.
Once you learn and apply the knowledge that is required, then you'll be able to achieve the professional level in less time... and using less energy in the process.
