A judge or referee or umpire decides your sports win or loss.
We call the sport a performance or a competition.
Judges, referees or umpire do not play with you during the game.
They watch you and your opponents.
Judges, referees and umpires duties are to:
- make sure the rights rules are played
- make sure the right points are awarded
- clear up confusion
- punish poor sportsmanship
- decide who wins
Sports coloring kid, you can get recognition for finishing the performance or competition.
When you finish the game you can be honored with:
- prizes
- money
- flowers
- Gatorade dunks
- or medals
You can come in first place, second place, or finish third in your sport.
Some sporting events have many award winning levels of competition.
You can finish in 103rd place in a marathon and win a tee shirt!
A judge or referee must be fearless and thick-skinned to make a ruling.
You know many coloring pages kids do not like to be ruled against.
They will say hurtful words or even swing or spit at the judges and referees (but you do not, do you?).
Some guys try to sweet talk the umpire.
Judges are bribed - promised to get something valuable for their rulings.
Judges and referees must have guts. They handle the abuse. They must be fair no matter how they are treated.
Coloring pages kid, you must learn to be fair, thick-skinned and handle abuse, too.
That is a good, strong part of your manhood.
